Â
- What class should I run?
- There are several factors that can help you determine which class to run. For example, flat karts do not run with any type of driver restraint whereas champ karts have full 5-point harnesses. Another factor to consider may be weight limits; box stock heavy, which is a popular flat kart class must weigh at least 375; its champ kart equivalent class (Sr. Champ) must weigh at least 425. You should also figure out how much you’re willing to spend. Engines for classes like BS Heavy and Sr. Champ can cost up to $1400 for professionally built motors, whereas Crate class motors are right around $300. We suggest coming to the track and talking to some racers to get a better idea of what classes you might want to look at.

- What equipment should I bring to the track?
- You can bring as much or as little as you think you’ll need. At a minimum, we suggest a set of standard and metric wrenches, a 3/8 impact and socket set, allen wrenches, some pliers (needle nose, side cutters, etc.) and an air compressor. You may want to come to the track on race day to ask a couple of racers what other tools they find helpful to have on race day.
